Reviews for Le Meridien Etoile
Stayed one week at the Le Meridien, Over all it was a nice stay. I believe the hotel caters to English speaking guests. Their complimentary buffet breakfast is one of the best I have had. The rooms were European small as expected, Staff was excellent. Le Meridien employed a sizable staff to handle your reception, your bags, concierge and wait staff. They even had a guy to go around the lobby and straighten up the chairs, sofas, cushions and floors. Bell staff was tops inside and outside the hotel. Rooms were small. we would have liked more drawer storage. Beds were good, they slept well. There were two long twin beds. Our room number was 2082 which was about as far from the elevator as possible. No microwave, but did have a small refrigerator and safe. Closet space was good with a few hangers. Our room was quiet. Bath was just a shower which was a big negative for my wife. A shower tub combo would have been much better. The shower had only a small plastic divider separating it from the rest of the bathroom. So it was easy to spray water into the room. There needs to be a curtain or door to prevent this. There is free WIFI in the room for guests. Bath supplies were the normal set of shampoos etc. One robe and one set of bath slippers was provided. The hotel supplies in bath hair dryers and the coffee set up that is normal for hotels today. Cab space outside the hotel was huge there must have been fifteen cabs waiting at all times. The hotel is across the street from a high end shopping mall and there is a metro station in the mall. We used the market in the mall. One huge problem, the elevators. The hotel has five elevators, but the maximum that ever were working was three. At times there were only two. Several times the elevators would jerk and jolt and would make you feel unsafe. They need to repair their elevators. We would walk down the stairs from our floor to the lobby.

On the good side---reception, rooms, location. On the not so good side----their buffet breakfast and the concierge! The concierge employees managed to recommend one of the worst restaurants in the neighborhood (Le Sud), gave us a map of the Louvre (in German) when we asked for a map in English, and misinformed us on a variety of questions.

Stayed here on business. Absolutely beautiful hotel, extremely clean and staff are attentive. Finally a hotel with stunning bathrooms; trendy, modern rooms (no old only school hotel furniture here!) Great local restaurants and bakeries nearby. Metro is just a stone's throw away to all major sites especially Eiffel Tower. Easy 20 minute walk to Arch de Triomphe.
Check in was friendly, but it took a 15 minute queue ahead of getting to the desk (630pm on Monday evening). If you want to work beyond 10pm, it isn’t going to happen as the internet speed drops to less than 1 mbps. On a more positive note, the beds are comfortable and the rooms are generally good. As you cannot work, you tend to get a good nights sleep at least!
This was the first Le Meridien so an iconic place to stay. Its got all the nice things in a good hotel and great service. The lobby and Jazz bar was excellent and so were the rooms. Even though its an old hotel, the maintenance was amazingly good for such a large hotel.
